The Zetas then feel guilty and decide to give themselves a second makeover, this time being "Half-Shelley and Half-Themselves". They also decide to draw the pledges out at random instead of judging them for their looks and popularity. They show up at Shelley's photo shoot and ask for her to come back, to which she agrees, having changed her mind about her dream of being a centerfold. Tyson Ritter — Emma Stone felt for Tyson Ritter in “The House Bunny,” marking the singer’s first acting role not playing himself or in a music video. Rumer Willis — The daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, Rumer Willis played Joanne in “The House Bunny.” Her character fractured her spine but, when it healed, was too afraid to take off her back brace. Willis starred in 2020’s hit “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” and is currently expecting her first child.

Full Cast & Crew

Directed by Fred Wolf and written by Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah Lutz, you probably remember The House Bunny as the Playboy sorority movie. After getting kicked out of the Playboy mansion for being too old at the ripe age of 27, Shelley (Anna Faris) has to find a new place to live. Through a series of misunderstandings and parade of college girls, Shelley finds herself on the doorstep of Zeta Alpha Zeta house, the lowest-ranked sorority on campus that’s in danger of having its charter pulled. The only thing that can save Zeta and the home these misfit young women love is if the sorority recruits 30 new members.

Often Faris will breathlessly misunderstanding an innuendo before deftly pulling a comedic 180, growling, cursing, and pratfalling in increasingly more ridiculous ways. It’s both sides of Faris’ lovely, vulgar brand of comedy wrapped up in one tube top-wearing role. In the United States, it is currently more popular than Whiteout but less popular than One Missed Call. Phi Iota Mu intercepts the invitations and prevents them from being mailed out, so the Zetas are again in danger of being shut down at the campus meeting of the Panhellenic Council. Oliver and Shelley reconcile, and Shelley explains that she likes Oliver a lot and was trying too hard to impress him. They decide to start over with their relationship and Oliver is looking forward to getting to know the "real" Shelley.

Shelley isn’t a genius by anyone’s standards, but she understands people and always remains optimistic and supportive throughout the lowest moments in her privileged life. Much like the sisters of Zeta Alpha Zeta themselves, she exudes sisterhood. And though she may get carried away often, it’s clear that what Shelley and her big heart ultimately want is for these young women to be happy and confident with themselves. In essence, The House Bunny is Revenge of the Nerds with girls, although, by comparison, the quality of this production makes that of the 1984 feature seem like the work of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

That’s when Shelley with her all-pink wardrobe, luscious blonde hair, and bubbly personality decides what she needs to do. She needs to become the Zetas house mom and save these girls from themselves. The film stars Faris, Colin Hanks, and Emma Stone, and tells the story of a former Playboy bunny who signs up to be the "house mother" of an unpopular university sorority after finding out she must leave the Playboy Mansion. More comedies need to take a page out of Shelley’s weird and pink diamond encrusted notebook.

Anna Faris’ ‘The House Bunny’ Is An Underrated Classic

The House Bunny has a screenplay written with ten-year olds in mind about a subject that deserves an R-rating. The resulting hodgepodge of unfunny, sophomoric humor and PG-13 T&A, frosted by a sheen of appallingly nauseous "drama," makes for such a noxious brew that it's amazing viewers stay in their seats for the entire production. Then again, it takes absorption of the full 100 minutes for the movie's vomit-inducing power to become evident.

All Of The Happy Madison Movies (Minus Adam Sandler), Ranked: From 'Paul Blart' To 'The Out-Laws'

Alas, a scheming member of Hef's bevy of busty beauties wants the staple for herself and orchestrates Shelley's ouster from the Mansion. Facing the loss of their charter and house, the Zetas are in dire need of pizzazz. So Shelley gives the girls makeovers, organizes a blow-out party, and generally acts as Fairy Godmother to these Cinderellas. One might assume that a film featuring Hugh Hefner, the Playboy Mansion, and a centerfold photo shoot would be enough to guarantee an R-rating. However, because the distributor demanded a PG-13, The House Bunny limits its sexual references to innuendo and the only nudity is a quick shot of a body-double's backside. And is Hugh Hefner so desperate for publicity that he can't resist being a party to this?

The actress talks about taking on this very different role, working with Woody Harrelson, Thor and more. A modern re-telling of "Snow White" and sort of a response to "Sydney White", a story of a psuedo-princess cast out and taken in by 7 societal misfits. The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 19, 2008.[16] It was also released in a 6-movie collection called The Laugh Out Loud Collection with other Happy Madison films in 2013. Hugh Hefner — Obviously, it’s impossible to make a movie about a Playboy bunny — even a fictional one — without Hugh Hefner.

Director Fred Wolf doesn't have a long filmography to judge his career by, but this isn't an auspicious calling card. Perhaps the most appalling aspect of the movie is not its penchant for recycled pratfalls and dumb blonde humor, but its sanctimonious and sentimental climax. The shameless manipulation of this misguided scene is more likely to trigger the gag reflex than tug at the heartstrings.

It’s about these young adults learning to recognize and ultimately embrace something they cannot achieve on their own — their own brand of femininity and sexuality. By the end of the film each of these young women finds her own middle ground, somewhere between Shelley’s push-up bra creation and their own individuality. All of these pink-lined makeovers help these women find themselves rather than mask them, much like a raunchier version of Legally Blonde. At a time when so many filmmakers are attempting to do new and interesting things with comedies, a forgettable throw-back like this is intolerable. There's not a single fresh idea or moment present in the entire movie, and watching the predictable comedy unfold is like hearing your uncle tell the same old jokes (that weren't that funny to begin with) for the dozenth time.

Owen Wilson or Seth Rogen does something wacky while a disapproving nag of a girlfriend — probably played by an actress who deserves better like Anne Hathaway or Rachel McAdams — frowns in the corner. But there’s one 2008 comedy that deserves far more than its rude 43 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The House Bunny is a funny and genuinely heartfelt examination of sisterhood, and in honor of Anna Faris’ birthday it deserves a re-evaluation. The House Bunny opens in the Playboy Mansion, with bunny Shelley (Anna Faris) dreaming not of Prince Charming but of a shot at becoming Miss November.

Custom Shirt Measurements and Sizes

This measurement is particularly important for ensuring a comfortable fit and proper positioning of the sleeves. The chest measurement is essential for determining the width of the t-shirt. To measure the chest, wrap a tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, just under the armpits. Record this measurement in inches or centimeters for reference.

T-Shirt Design Sizes: A Comprehensive Guide to Finding the Perfect Fit

If you’re a seasoned T-shirt guru or just getting started on your first doodle, I’ve got your back with this guide. And let’s be real – every tee is more than just fabric; it’s a canvas for memories, jokes, or maybe even your next masterpiece. I get it; with all the colors out there, it’s like being a kid in a candy store. Stick to a few colors that work well together, and your design will look sleek and put together. Think of it as a well-coordinated outfit versus wearing every piece of clothing you own. For instance, teens might love oversized graphics that cover the whole shirt, while a corporate crowd might prefer something more subtle and pocket-sized.

Sleeve Design

Crop t-shirts are shortened in length, typically ending above or at the belly button. Make a game out of seeing if they can stay still and work as quickly as you can. You only need a rough outline to get a pretty accurate measurement. A fashion fit is slightly tapered through the waist to be more form-fitting and figure-flattering. The sleeves are smaller and a little more close-fitting, with high shoulder seams. Classic fit, or original fit, is somewhat roomy and loose all over the body.

Outfit Style: Sporty Chic - Elevating Athleisure with a Feminine Touch

Don’t forget about marketing and social media – prompt your products and excel in t-shirt printing. This is to make sure that the print comes out in the best-possible quality, and the T-shirts themselves can provide the excellent comfort and perfect fit you desire. Some T-shirts have a higher cotton density, while others offer a fabric blend of mixed material, making them super soft to the touch. With a wide range of options at your disposal, you can choose both the style and fit of your custom T-shirt.

To balance out the arched style, try incorporating horizontal text at the bottom of your arch. The only other thing you need is the t-shirt size chart from the manufacturer. They do this because, well, not a single one of them seem to agree on what size a small, medium or large should be. Especially since they also commonly have size ranges down to XXS and up to 5XL, you have many options. Consider the placement of patterns when designing for plus-size t-shirts.

With a deep dive into T-shirt design size charts, you’ve cracked the code to perfect prints. Now, armed with this knowledge, the power of printing precision is in your hands. Now, go ahead, experiment with placement, play with sizes, and create T-shirts that tell your story. And if you find this post helpful, please share this post with your friends to spread the T-shirt design love and drop a comment below with your thoughts and experiences. Designing your own T-shirt is a great way for businesses, influencers, and entrepreneurs to make extra money and spread brand awareness. Before you try to sell your first T-shirt, however, you'll need to learn a few design basics.

Stand up straight with your shoulders back when measuring for shirt sizes. The best thing you can do is to work with a company that offers a user-friendly and intuitive interface that you can use to design the T-shirt to your liking. Printbest is one of the leading on-demand print providers that can help you choose the correct T-shirt size, color, and several other variables you need to get the perfect T-shirt printed. Generally, the maximum printing area for the front and back of a T-shirt is 12″ x 16″. Some printing companies, including Printbest, will shrink your design on smaller size garments so the image fits in the printable area.

Spreadshirt also offers a design service that can help you turn an idea into a design for your custom t-shirt. Before you go off and get to designing, first think about why you’re creating a t-shirt. Is it to promote a business or brand, an event, or just a cool message? Make sure your t-shirt design supports its main purpose, while also just being an all-around fun shirt to rock in public. Think you know the size you wear, only to order something that doesn’t fit?

He asked if I had any idea what would be the best option to consider. I like how you mentioned that sizes of range would be important to be properly measured to ensure a proper design. My friend mentioned yesterday that he and his business partners are planning to give printed shirts as giveaways for their employees. I’ll tell him that they can consult a well-known screen printing service as they can provide more information about the design process.

But if you want to get a precise shirt size for your toddler, there are a couple of easy ways to do it. It seems like such a straightforward, simple thing to wear, but finding the perfect fit for a shirt is all about knowing what you want and finding how to match it to your body. The placement of your design image is also something you need to consider before sending a file to your print provider.

However, keep in mind that if the size is too small, it will make details hard to see. The image resolution is as important as the image size itself. Plus, the type of image you have may also affect the resolution, and you can choose between non-vector and vector images. Therefore, you will have to determine the image size according to the maximum printable area provided by each of these printing methods.

I think that will save us money if the custom screen printing process and the company will only use one design. So I should consider the ideas we have and choose wisely from them before going to a professional to have our family reunion shirt made. It’s essential to measure accurately and refer to the sizing chart provided by the brand or manufacturer, as different brands may have slight variations in their sizing. By following these steps, you can confidently choose t-shirts that fit well and ensure your online shopping experience is seamless and satisfying. Before we dive into specific size charts, let’s grasp the fundamentals of t-shirt sizing. Shirts are usually available in various categories, including unisex, women’s, men’s, and youth sizes.

Create repeated patterns or upload a single large design from seam to seam. My friend wants to make sure that he gets some high quality T-shirts made for his business. It makes sense that getting a good full front design would be beneficial. I’ll make sure that he knows to get a professional to help out with that.

Or worse, you stock an entire inventory of shirts that don’t fit customers as expected. Customer service finds themselves overly busy and you’re stuck handling returns. Professional looking shirts are coming your way with this guide to t-shirt design placement. This can be used with sublimation shirts, iron on vinyl, HTV, or any way you are making shirts.

If you have a small logo, it might be a good idea to print it on a short sleeve rather than on the front. This is a simple look that makes the tee look almost plain at first glance. Some t-shirts are printed with a name or text running across the back from left to right. Band shirts commonly fall into this category, printing their album cover or elaborate artwork smack dab in the middle. Some are stretchy, some are stiff, and some are somewhere in between. A design that looks fab on a 100% cotton tee might look all wonky on a polyester blend because of how the fabric stretches.

The House Bunny deserves credit only for reminding viewers what it's like to lose two hours of one's life and get nothing in return. One of the reasons that Revenge of the Nerds is such a classic college comedy is that the guys don't change. They prove themselves worthy of popularity (and love) despite being nerds. It's sad that two decades after Gilbert, Lewis, and Booger proved that nerds are cool, these girls have to resort to objectifying stereotypes to save their sorority.

Admittedly, the PG-13 makes sense because it's impossible to conceive of an adult finding anything in this film palatable, never mind entertaining. The House Bunny has always been a more complicated film than we give it credit for, especially when held under 2018’s lens. Its blatant sexualization and “boys will be boys” attitude toward the male-driven institutions of power are so pronounced, they cross into satire. But even in the movie’s darkest moments, it’s Shelley’s endearing embrace of sisterhood that stands out. The House Bunny is far from a perfect movie, but it deserves way more than the eye roll we’ve given it.

One wonders if there's a special place in hell reserved for filmmakers who foist this kind of tripe on the public. The film released in 2008 and, you might remember, had a pretty stacked cast. So, let’s look back on where they’re at these days, after their time in the Zeta house.

Shelley is living a carefree life until a rival gets her tossed out of the Playboy Mansion. With nowhere to go, fate delivers her to the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. Unless they can sign a new pledge class, the seven socially clueless women will lose their house to the scheming girls of Phi Iota Mu. In order to accomplish their goal, they need Shelley to teach them the ways of makeup and men; at the same time, Shelley needs some of what the Zetas have - a sense of individuality.

Having gotten a makeover and lessons on how to attract guys and be popular, the Zetas throw a party, which is a huge success. Later, the Zetas are reviewing the girls who are hoping to pledge to Zeta. When they realize what they have become, they blame Shelley—just as she returns from her unsuccessful date. The actress plays Nicole in this outrageous college comedy about a 21st birthday celebration that's gone out of control, on Blu-ray and DVD June 18th. More than any other actress, Faris is an expert at playing funny, wide-eyed, and clueless princesses, but The House Bunny capitalizes on her grittier side as well.

The combination leads all the girls to learn how to stop pretending and start being themselves. It would have been easy to turn this movie into cruel mockery of women for 97 minutes. Broad comedies aren’t great to women, especially college-aged women, historically. But though The House Bunny was happy to deliver predictable jokes about dumb blondes, manipulative women, and of course Playboy bunnies it always had heart underneath those cheap laughs. The House Bunny isn’t a story about a group of women transforming into Stepford sorority girls, though that certainly does happen in its first act.

Atlanta woman says familys longtime house was mistakenly demolished

Sarah Hodgson said she told the neighbor she did no such a thing and was further informed that a company had come and “just demolished the whole house and tore it all down.” She was outraged. Generally, if the cause of the water damage is sudden and accidental, like a burst pipe, then a homeowners or renters insurance policy will cover water-related damage to the structure of your home and your personal belongings. In the case of renters insurance, it may also help to cover the costs of water damage you cause to others. The company did not immediately return a telephone message left Saturday.

The company that reportedly demolished her home also hadn’t reached out since the incident she added to the outlet. An Atlanta woman is looking for answers after a longtime family-owned property was reduced to rubble while she was away on vacation, apparently due to an error by a local hauling and demolition company. "It's been boarded up about 15 years, and we keep it boarded, covered, grass cut, and the yard is clean. The taxes are paid and everything is up on it," Hodgson told the outlet about the property. An Atlanta woman said a home her family owned for over 40 years was accidentally demolished, and the company responsible for the mistake has yet to contact her. Hodgson said the company responsible for the mishap, Atlanta-based You Call It We Haul It, has yet to contact her.

Atlanta woman returns from vacation to find home demolished, says company had ‘wrong address’

Hodgson had received a call from a neighbor while she was away asking whether she hired someone to demolish the vacant home. It’s not a historic block, according to the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission — a fact that upsets Feigen and other opponents of the apartment project. The houses on West 158th Street are likely to be destroyed for a new apartment building. There are plenty of awesome abandoned places in Georgia to admire, whether you’re able to access them or not (we strongly suggest admiring from afar – please do not trespass). The property needs about $35,000 worth of work, and it would be ready for a family, he said. But, because there is a stop order, there’s nothing he can do to improve it.

Luckily, no one was living in Hodgson’s property at the time of its accidental demolition in October 2023. In fact, it was boarded up for about 15 years prior to its demise — but Hodgson insisted she kept it “covered, the grass cut, the yard cleaned up, taxes paid…” and so on. She asked a relative to check what was happening and to request a permit, per the outlet, at which point the person in charge reportedly realized he had the wrong address.

It was an accident.’ They didn’t give me nothing,” Hodgson said. She then sent a family member to speak with the workers and ask to see a permit. "I keep waking up thinking, ‘Is this all a joke or something?’ I’m just in shock." Hodgson said she then sent a family member over to the southwest Atlanta property to speak with the crew and request to look over their permit. Hodgson was apparently notified about the bizarre accident after receiving a call from a neighbor.

"We're still in this process of figuring out what to do," she said. "We keep pressing in different directions to see if something is going to happen." Ms Hodgson sent a family member over, who asked the workers for a permit. "The house, it was a fun place. We always had a lot of good times here," Hodgson said. "Usually, on trash day, I walk around the lot and clean up the yard ,and this bright yellow sign was in the middle of my backyard, and I noticed it said 'Stop Work Order, '" Hodgson said.

She said she’s filed a police report and has spoken to attorneys. The family property, which had been boarded up but diligently cared for over the last 15 years, was mistakenly demolished after a local construction company went to the wrong address. “[The house has] been boarded up about 15 years, and we keep it boarded, covered, grass cut, and the yard is clean.

"The guy pulled it out and said 'Oh I'm at the wrong address' and he just packs everything up and leaves and the house is just (destroyed) down and gone," Hodgson told Fox 5. "He said 'well I want to see a permit or something' and the guy pulled it out and said 'Oh I'm at the wrong address' and he just packs everything up and leaves and the house is just (destroyed) down and gone," Hodgson said. "It's just hard to believe someone thinks they have the right to just come and tear something up and walk away from it and didn't come back and say 'I'm sorry. What do I need to do to fix this? It was an accident.' They didn't give me nothing." "I keep waking up thinking, 'Is this all a joke or something?' I'm just in shock." "I get what they are saying. I get that the house was boarded up and people probably would love to have it down. That's fine, but he didn't have permission to do it. That's the problem," Hodgson said.

She sent a family member over to see what was going on and who asked to see a permit. When a person in charge at the site checked his permit, Hodgson said he admitted he was at the wrong address. “I said ‘no’ and she said, ‘Well, there’s someone over here who just demolished the whole house and tore it all down,’” Hodgson recalled. Feigen is a longtime opponent of change on his block, on West 158th Street in Upper Manhattan — change that has taken the form of a 140-unit apartment building. The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check.

"It's been boarded up about 15 years, and we keep it boarded, covered, grass cut, and the yard is clean," she said. Susan Hodgson found a pile of rubble in place of what used to be her long-time family property when she returned from holiday, she told WAGA-TV. "It's been boarded up about 15 years, and we keep it boarded, covered, grass cut, and the yard is clean," Hodgson said. Hodgson eventually contacted a person from her family to go and look at the property. The person spoke to the site supervisor, who checked the permit and admitted to tearing down the wrong house.

Buildings were destroyed and tens of thousands of residents left without electricity. "The guy pulled it out and said, 'Oh I'm at the wrong address,' and he just packs everything up and leaves and the house is just down and gone," Hodgson told Fox 5. The company has not yet reached out to Hodgson since the misunderstanding, Hodgson told Fox 5 Atlanta.

"I said, ‘No’ and she said, ‘Well, there’s someone over here who just demolished the whole house and tore it all down,’" Hodgson told the AP. "I said 'no' and she said, 'Well, there's someone over here who just demolished the whole house and tore it all down,'" Hodgson recalled. She said a neighbour called her while she was away, and asked if someone had been hired to tear down the vacant house. In March, the city tore down Everett Tripodis' southwest Atlanta home despite all notices and demolition documents naming a different address, WSB-TV reported. He's now facing a $68,000 bill as the city tries to foreclose on the property to cover the demolition costs.

Hodgson did not live in the home but says while vacant, it was not abandoned. That’s where home insurance — or renters insurance if you don’t yet own a home — really comes into play. Road House 1989 Full Cast & Crew

road house

He is approached by Frankie, the owner of an unruly roadhouse in the Florida Keys community of Glass Key, who offers him a job as head bouncer. Initially hesitant, Dalton takes up the offer after narrowly averting a suicide attempt with a freight train that destroys his car. He takes a bus to Frankie's establishment, called simply The Road House, and befriends Charlie, a teenager who runs a bookstore with her father, Stephen. The Schindler House is laid out as two interlinking L-shaped apartments (referred to as the Schindler and Chace apartments) using the basic design of the camp site that he had seen a year before.

Cast & Crew

At his most winning despite his character’s lethal nature, Gyllenhaal keeps up the one-liners and drollery. In lieu of Swayze’s Zenlike musings, he gives us dry inquiries about whether his challengers have medical insurance before pummeling and delivering them to a hospital. At the Road House, Dalton fends off a motorcycle gang working for local crime boss Ben Brandt and personally drives the injured thugs to the hospital, where he meets Ellie, a doctor who tends to his injuries.

What to Watch

That version of the film never really took shape, however, and the current iteration looks to be a more straightforward remake of the original. While the film is likely a long ways from heading before cameras, it seems MGM is hot to get the production off the ground. So much so, they're now meeting with writers to touch up a screenplay previously written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry.

Personalize your stream and start following your favorite authors, offices and users. Schindler's friend, partner and rival, Richard Neutra along with his wife Dione and son Frank lived in the Chace apartment from March 1925 until the summer of 1930. With Schindler as architect and Chace as builder to save costs, construction began in November 1921.

Kings Road House- exterior elevation

As we've seen from his earlier movies, the best of which include The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow, Liman is a more-than-capable director of action. The bar brawls here are well choreographed and cleanly shot, and the fighting encompasses everything from intimate fisticuffs to grander-scale set-pieces. Probably my favorite performance is given by a hungry crocodile who makes short work of one of the more annoying members of the cast and gives the movie some authentic Florida flavor.

Stephen discovers Dalton has left them the trunk of cash as the bus pulls away. In a mid-credits scene, Knox has survived and assaults the hospital staff, leaving in his gown. Frankie admits that Brandt has been buying up property to build an expensive resort, but she is the lone holdout. Dalton decides to leave town but discovers that Charlie and Stephen are in the hospital after Brandt's men burned down their bookstore. Enraged, Dalton kills one of the thugs responsible and captures a sheriff's deputy making a large delivery of Brandt's illicit cash, framing the deputy for the murder and taking the money. The sheriff soon informs Dalton that Brandt has kidnapped Ellie and will exchange her for the money.

Kings Road House- Schindler and Neutra

Receiving a knife wound in the process, Dalton visits a hospital and befriends Dr. Elizabeth Clay to whom Wesley is also attracted. After sending his henchmen to unsuccessfully try to disrupt business at the Double Deuce, Wesley offers to hire Dalton himself. Dalton refuses and Wesley uses his connections to prevent the Double Deuce from purchasing alcohol from any suppliers. Dalton uses his own connections to secure some supplies and reunites with his mentor Wade Garrett, an aging bouncer. Wesley sends his men to destroy the Double Deuce's supplies, but Dalton and Garrett defeat them.

Elizabeth arrives and reconciles with Dalton, but Wesley recovers and attempts to shoot him before being shot dead by the locals, including Emmett and Red. Sometime later, the modernized and refined Double Deuce bustles with customers while Dalton and Elizabeth swim together in a lake. One evening, the auto shop adjacent to the Double Deuce — owned by Elizabeth's uncle Red Webster — is destroyed in an arson attack. After Dalton and the crowds return inside the Double Deuce, they find Wesley awaiting them. He has his men fight Dalton's bouncers and damage the bar before agreeing to leave. Wesley sabotages other businesses as the local owners discuss their futile efforts to stop him.

We are expected to believe that the sadist financed these hunting expeditions by shaking down the businesmen in a town that, on the visible evidence, contains a bar, a general store, a Ford dealership and two residences. "Road House" is the kind of movie that leaves reality so far behind that you have to accept it on its own terms. This movie delivers a lot of the same kicks as the first, but with contemporary tuneups like a villain played by Conor McGregor, the Ultimate Fighting Championship star who’s first seen stark naked, except for shoes and socks (so he can carry his phone). Though two hours long, the movie moves as swiftly as a greased ferret through a Habitrail and delivers hallucinatory action highs for its extended climax. Road House can sometimes be so bad it's good, but more often, the uneven acting and ridiculous story are just disappointing. As Frankie and Stephen begin to rebuild, Charlie says goodbye to Dalton as he waits for his bus out of town.

Tilghman plans to invest substantial funds into the dilapidated club and needs Dalton's highly regarded skills to tackle the endemic violence and rough customers. Dalton agrees in exchange for full authority over the club's operations, immediately firing several employees for poor behavior, theft, and drug dealing. For privacy, Dalton stays in a sparse barn owned by a farmer Emmett, unaware that the mansion across the adjacent lake is owned by Brad Wesley, a crime lord controlling the town through bribery, intimidation, and violence.

EF mount means people who own expensive EF cine lenses can use them. That would be a huge boost for Nikon in the video department. While quite capable of modern day video, Nikon cameras are sadly underrated in this area. Crippled or lack of AF does not define a cinema camera anymore. Pros use AF when it is good, which it has not been until recently. Yes why buy a $2500 camera when you can buy a $5500 camera with a $600 speedbooster.

Pocket 4K is bad in sunlight, a shame for such a large screen. I'm hoping the new camera delivers on that better screen promised. That's true but good Autofocus today is done in software, provided that the sensor has PDAF pixels in the first place. It's not rocket science to develop these algorithms.

The new full-frame 6K looks very similar to the Pocket 6K Pro. The body design is close enough that many cages and accessories should still work. If you already have a Pocket 6K Pro and are wondering whether the new Cinema Camera 6K is worth checking out or if you are shopping for your first camera then this comparison from Of Two Lands might help you out. Blackmagic has now given us another option in their affordable camera lineup with the full-frame Cinema Camera 6K. This now goes up against the Super35 Pocket 6K series and it isn’t quite as simple as choosing a format. Trying to get your hands on the Fujifilm X100VI Limited Edition?

No flippy screen on a dedicated video cameras and I am yet to see pitchforks.... Built-in ND filters is a massive advance and unique anywhere near this price point. Juggling screw-in ND filters before every shot is slow and risky (to the lens’s front element and filter thread). This is the most frustrating thing about using my GH5S. I think i need to add that only mirrorless mount that doesn't allow both ibis and ND at the same time, I forgot that it's sony that made such statement. @Samuel Dilworth Again, I would like to see the video footage of this camera handheld and with the 85mm lens on it ...

I mean it's quite normal to set up the camera even when it's not mounted. Not everything you set up needs to be rebalanced when you mount it. Always refreshing how this Australian David shows the Goliaths of the motion camera industry what "listening to the customers" means. No it is not - most new lenses today have shorter flange, so can't be used on EF mount with anykind of adapter.

(You need to buy the batteries separately.) Conveniently, the batteries can also be charged while still in the grip, by using the camera's 12-V DC charger. The display on the BMPCC 6K Pro, on the other hand, puts every facet of the camera on screen and lets you adjust them with a tap. Frame rate, shutter speed, f-stop, ISO, and white balance are all visible along the top, and they show their current settings if they automatically change for any reason. And aside from a few other requisites like a menu button and a recording/image-capture button, that's largely it. Most controls are handled by the touchscreen interface, where they're intuitively laid out (more on that below).

Blackmagic Design announces Pyxis modular full-frame video camera

Few camera manufacturers have managed to stand out the way Blackmagic has when it comes to capturing high-quality video on a mirrorless camera. The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (dubbed PCC6K Pro) impressed me when I reviewed it a few years ago, but somehow the company's new Cinema Camera 6K has managed to top it. With a full-frame sensor, the new L mount, and a similar $2,600 price, it’s turning my head again. Automatically populated lens data from electronic Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Their focus on understanding client needs and workflows was a refreshing approach in the industry. OpenDrives, a leader in software-defined media workflow solutions, received some well-deserved recognition this year. Its newly unveiled Atlas software-defined storage platform and business model won the NAB 2024 Show Award for Product of the Year in the Connect Category - Cloud Computing and Storage. Atlas offers a revolutionary composable storage model, priced based on capabilities rather than capacity, giving creators advanced options. As an individual content creator, imagine being given back half of your time to focus on new projects or spend more time with clients or loved ones.

@onlyfreeman To call a 4/3 camera a "Pocket Full Frame". Nowhere near full frame, the sensor is a just a quarter of the full frame size, that's why the name is quite a bend. There is a difference between marketing and false advertising. The BMD's don't compete with the Sony stuff as hybrids, in fact the BMD is so heavily compromised as a video can I'd not even try to use it for stills.

As for the onboard microphones, they sound as decent as on-camera mics can. They are useful for scratch audio or for syncing if you record primary audio into another device, but you probably shouldn’t rely on them for much beyond that. There’s also no shoe mount on top, replaced instead with a screw thread for connecting a camera cage or mounting plate. Oddly, the bottom tripod mount is a sole 1/4-inch socket, missing the extra pin often found on video cameras. This is, then, a camera you will certainly want to accessorize to get the most out of it.

Road House: What We Know About The Jake Gyllenhaal-Led Remake

road house remake

Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp and Bob Menery round out the cast. Without trying to mimic the spirit of the original, Liman, Gyllenhaal, and their team have successfully updated it. The new Road House is a movie anyone could proudly guzzle a couple of beers and watch on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Hence, a remake of the film, some might argue, is destined to be a pastiche of a pastiche. But as we move further into the 21st century, we find the notion of authenticity ever more devalued.

Clint Howard talks about his famous family and starring …

None of the other actors are especially persuasive, except Jessica Williams as the roadhouse's tough-minded owner. As a snarling hit man who tries to take Dalton down, the Irish professional fighter Conor McGregor does make an impression, in the same way a wrecking ball makes an impression. The original film grossed a modest $30 million against a $15 million budget but has since become a cult classic and stands as one of Patrick Swayze’s most beloved roles. Along the way, cult comedy icons like the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew and Clerks director Kevin Smith sang the movie’s praises. Kelly Lynch started telling a well-received anecdote about how Bill Murray and his brothers call her husband any time they catch her big sex scene in the movie on cable. And a growing legion of fans discovered you can’t find its unique blend of sturdy construction and cockamamie content anywhere else.

‘Road House’ Review: More Fizzle Than Sizzle In Doug Liman’s Remake Of An Action Classic – SXSW

Unfortunately, this remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a lackluster and ultimately unnecessary retread of the original Patrick Swayze-starring film. And in case you’re wanting to do a comparison watch, “Road House” (1989) is currently streamable with Prime Video, Max and Showtime subscriptions. One element that didn’t work in the original film — the romance between Dalton (Swayze) and “Doc” (Kelly Lynch) also falls flat here, unfortunately.

Got a Hot News Tip?

After producing the original 1989 film, Joel Silver is back producing for his company Silver Pictures along with JJ Hook, Alison Winter and Aaron Auch, who serve as executive producers. Turns out you can’t—and that’s exactly the strength of the new film, out on Prime Video on March 21. Liman, Gyllenhaal, and company recognize that what made the original Road House so delightfully stupid won’t quite work in 2024. Their version ends up being a sweet-natured, hilarious, and, of course, psychotically violent tribute to an unlikely masterpiece, and the creators’ affection for the original article shines through in every frame.

Film

The battles between Dalton and his bouncers on one end and Brad Wesley’s goons on the other are near-constant and always impactful. Dalton’s climactic mano a mano with lead goon Jimmy—choreographed in large part by Swayze and his scene partner Marshall Teague themselves—is one of the greatest fight scenes ever filmed, full stop. Released in 1989, the original “Road House” starred Patrick Swayze as James Dalton, a zen bouncer hired to clean up a rough-and-tumble bar in Missouri. Dalton’s successful enterprise attracts the ire of the corrupt businessman (Ben Gazzara) that controls the small town. The film was a modest box office success, grossing $30 million against a reported $15 million budget, and has since accrued the reputation of a cult classic.

There, Dalton begins falling for an ER doctor, Daniella Melchior’s Ellie, after she cynically “thanks” him for bringing a bunch of wounded yahoos to her hospital, which only increases her workload and that of her already exhausted staff. As she harangues him, his eyes practically take the form of little cartoon hearts. This is why you cast Jake Gyllenhaal in a Road House remake; the muscles are just the frosting. The remake, written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry, mostly sticks to the original template. In this version of the story, Dalton, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship star who's fallen on tough times.

Stephen discovers Dalton has left them the trunk of cash as the bus pulls away. In a mid-credits scene, Knox has survived and assaults the hospital staff, leaving in his gown. At the moment, it remains unclear whether Gyllenhaal will take on the role of Dalton in the “Road House” remake or if the film will function as a different type of interpretation of the 1989 original. MGM execs are reportedly meeting to get a new draft rolling for the project.

'Road House' remake becomes Amazon's most-watched film debut

Added to the insult is a script that relies heavily on dialogue, yet that fails every attempt at humor. With a runtime of just 2 hours, “Road House” is a breezy watch and its soft R-rating for language and violence also means it could be a good family-with-older-kids movie night pick. While the new “Road House” isn’t a remake in the vein of Luca Guadagnino’s subversive and beautiful “Suspiria,” which is very nearly a completely different film, it’s a worthwhile reinvention that works. Dalton’s fortune is changed, however, after he’s scouted to become the bouncer at The Road House, a troubled tropic-themed watering hole where live bands perform behind cages for their own safety. In Herrington’s movie, patron rowdiness is dialed up to 100% — which is both fun to watch and also gives that film a certain unreality that makes some of its script shortcomings passable. But Liman’s “Road House” tempers some of the customer violence, which helps ground the story a little more but equally makes these portions of the film much less memorable.

Some of the most iconic ‘80s movies like Red Dawn, The Karate Kid, and Robocop have all received the remake treatment in the past decade or so, but one legendary, and badass action flick, 1989’s Road House, has never been remade. Well, that will soon change with the upcoming reimagining of the Patrick Swayze classic with Jake Gyllenhaal leading things. This unconvincing romance, however, is perhaps the sole element that really doesn’t work with the story’s tonal shift.

Once again, Dalton bends over backwards to be nice, until it’s time not to be nice. Once again, we’re reminded that no one wins in a fight, except the moviegoer, who gets to satisfy an inherent bloodlust by indulging in the second-hand thrills of an epic barroom brawl in Margaritaville. Back in March of 2023, Gyllenhaal was seen filming scenes for the movie during a UFC 285 mixed martial arts event in Las Vegas. The 1989 movie centered on James Dalton, a professional "cooler," or bouncer, at a bar in a small town in Missouri. The first trailer for “Road House,” a remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze-starring action film, was released on Jan. 25, showing a buff and built Jake Gyllenhaal in the leading role. In the original film, Swayze stars as Dalton, a sought-after bouncer who moves to a small Missouri town to bring some order to an unruly dive bar, along the way uncovering the corruption of a local businessman played by Ben Gazzara.

He's run out of options when he's offered a job cooling down the riff-raff at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. When he shows up, he teaches the other bouncers to de-escalate the violence that flares up night after night among the bar's very mean, very drunk patrons. The 1989 movie where Patrick Swayze is a professional New York City bouncer imported to Missouri to work at the most raucous road house bar in the Show Me State? The kind of film in which the hero does tai chi, reads philosophy and coos Zen koans like “Pain don’t hurt,” and the bad guy utters bon mots like, “I used to fuck guys like you in prison? As the new Dalton, Gyllenhaal embodies the Swayze character’s faux-zen credo—“Be nice…until it’s time to not be nice”—without cribbing the line outright.

How he ends up there will surely be fleshed out in time, but for right now, the idea of a former UFC fighter running security at a raucous dive bar sounds pretty, pretty good. Taking on Swayze’s role, Jake Gyllenhaal plays the pro fighter turned bouncer Elwood Dalton, here protecting a juke joint that sits on a valuable piece of real estate in the Florida Keys. At his most winning despite his character’s lethal nature, Gyllenhaal keeps up the one-liners and drollery. In lieu of Swayze’s Zenlike musings, he gives us dry inquiries about whether his challengers have medical insurance before pummeling and delivering them to a hospital.

road house remake

It is a remake of the 1989 film of the same name and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Daniela Melchior, Conor McGregor (in his feature film debut), J. Back in November 2021, Deadline revealed that Jake Gyllenhaal would be stepping in as the lead, taking on a version of the role made famous by Swayze nearly 35 years ago. A little less than a year later, the outlet also reported that former UFC Champion Conor McGregor would be making his acting debut in the upcoming feature film, though his character’s identity has yet to be revealed.

Cheap thrills have become so scarce that they now feel as rare as gold. The supporting cast is a clearly talented bunch but is likewise grossly underserved by the script. They are mostly reduced to plot devices, or in the best light, foils for Dalton’s journey. He has the cartoonish silliness of Yosemite Sam, with none of the charisma. Doug Liman directs the remake of the classic1989 film Road House, which premiered Friday in the Headliner category at SXSW 2024.

The cost to make your cruise all-inclusive is $55 per person per day, added to your cruise fare, and applies only to the first and second guests in each cabin. Upgrade to the All-Included fare, and you'll pay more but get more inclusions. (Prices vary by ship, itinerary and sail date.) These fares cover a Classic Drinks Package and Celebrity's Basic Wi-Fi plan. The fares used to cover crew gratuities, but that perk has been phased out. Oceania Cruises sails smaller, upscale ships with a focus on fine dining and restaurant variety. It has recently made its cruise fares more inclusive with the introduction of Simply More pricing.

Innovative cabins let fresh air in without creating under-used outdoor space. The line has also gotten creative with options for more inclusive fares. If vacation mode means you'll be tossing back tropical cocktails at the pool all day or enjoying multiple glasses of wine at both lunch and dinner, booking an all-inclusive package is a smart option. If you're not a big drinker or enthusiastic social media user, the better deal is sometimes to stick with the basic fare and pay as you go for what you use. Wi-Fi and tips account for $51 of the $89 daily charge before factoring in bar charges. So, the value is there with the All-Inclusive Fare if you plan to enjoy at least three or four alcoholic beverages daily throughout your cruise — and you'll avoid the added service charges.

To help you decide what a "deal" really is for an all-inclusive cruise, we ran searches on Caribbean cruises for the upcoming season on the lines known for all-inclusive cruising. Windstar Cruises' hallmark is casual luxury, so the line lets guests choose how inclusive they want their fares to be. Virgin Voyages' goal is to reimagine the cruise experience, which means that it doesn't follow the typical rules of cruising. You'll find tattoo parlors, drag shows, balcony hammocks and a novel approach to fare inclusions.

Your Medallion device and complimentary lanyard will be available to pick up at the port with no shipping fee. You should still complete your OceanReady® travel checklist in advance to save time on embarkation day. Making the claim of having “the world’s most luxurious fleet” is bold, but year after year, Regent Seven Seas delivers on that promise on each of their five ships (with a sixth, the Seven Seas Grandeur, setting sail in 2023).

You will pay extra for spa treatments, cigars and other purchases like the most exclusive wines and spirits. Fine dining on Seabourn ships includes an array of complimentary gourmet restaurants, including a dedicated sushi spot and an alfresco restaurant focusing on international cuisine with a twist. The line is soon to replace The Grill by Thomas Keller with Solis, a Mediterranean restaurant focused on fresh and healthy cuisine, all made from scratch on board. These stunning ships are as sleek and sexy as any private yachts custom-built for a billionaire. Think of each as a bliss factory, churning out one mind-blowing complimentary experience after the next.

A respite for sun and sand seekers, the Bahamas is home to light blue beaches, translucent underwater caves, a rich royal heritage and exclusive private isles. The Bahamas has an island for every taste and style, and it's easy to enjoy its subtropical charm during an overnight stint or a week-long cruise. Whether you're a history buff or a nature nut, there are numerous bucket list destinations to experience while traveling on your Alaska cruise vacation. As you plan your Alaska vacation, you might be torn between traveling by cruise ship, plane or even car.

Azamara and Oceania both have interior staterooms that can save you a bundle on a premium all-inclusive (or mostly inclusive) cruise. We found a 10-night Greek island cruise in an interior stateroom with Oceania's O-Life add-on package that includes airfare, some excursions, and onboard credit for around $400 per person, per night. Azamara does offer several extra-fee packages to make its inclusive fares even more inclusive.
