EF mount means people who own expensive EF cine lenses can use them. That would be a huge boost for Nikon in the video department. While quite capable of modern day video, Nikon cameras are sadly underrated in this area. Crippled or lack of AF does not define a cinema camera anymore. Pros use AF when it is good, which it has not been until recently. Yes why buy a $2500 camera when you can buy a $5500 camera with a $600 speedbooster.

Pocket 4K is bad in sunlight, a shame for such a large screen. I'm hoping the new camera delivers on that better screen promised. That's true but good Autofocus today is done in software, provided that the sensor has PDAF pixels in the first place. It's not rocket science to develop these algorithms.

More saturated colors are pure and less saturated colors have a percentage of gray in proportion to their hue. Adjusting saturation in Blackmagic RAW images can help make the colors visually pop or become muted. Peter Nearhos talks about using the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and the Laowa probe lens for the first time. ‘Bugs is a unique project where Peter could try out the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K in the world of macro filmmaking. Los Angeles based Director of Photography, Vance Burberry recently shot this camera test using the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro.

That means customers can connect an SDI display for on set monitoring of images, with or without overlays that show critical information and camera status. SDI allows for much longer cable runs than HDMI making it easier to reach monitors that are further away on set. Blackmagic PYXIS supports the optional Blackmagic URSA Cine EVF to make outdoors and handheld shooting accurate and easy. Customers get an integrated high quality 1920 x 1080 color OLED display with built in proximity sensor, 4 element glass diopter for incredible accuracy with a wide focus adjustment.
The new full-frame 6K looks very similar to the Pocket 6K Pro. The body design is close enough that many cages and accessories should still work. If you already have a Pocket 6K Pro and are wondering whether the new Cinema Camera 6K is worth checking out or if you are shopping for your first camera then this comparison from Of Two Lands might help you out. Blackmagic has now given us another option in their affordable camera lineup with the full-frame Cinema Camera 6K. This now goes up against the Super35 Pocket 6K series and it isn’t quite as simple as choosing a format. Trying to get your hands on the Fujifilm X100VI Limited Edition?
No flippy screen on a dedicated video cameras and I am yet to see pitchforks.... Built-in ND filters is a massive advance and unique anywhere near this price point. Juggling screw-in ND filters before every shot is slow and risky (to the lens’s front element and filter thread). This is the most frustrating thing about using my GH5S. I think i need to add that only mirrorless mount that doesn't allow both ibis and ND at the same time, I forgot that it's sony that made such statement. @Samuel Dilworth Again, I would like to see the video footage of this camera handheld and with the 85mm lens on it ...

I mean it's quite normal to set up the camera even when it's not mounted. Not everything you set up needs to be rebalanced when you mount it. Always refreshing how this Australian David shows the Goliaths of the motion camera industry what "listening to the customers" means. No it is not - most new lenses today have shorter flange, so can't be used on EF mount with anykind of adapter.
(You need to buy the batteries separately.) Conveniently, the batteries can also be charged while still in the grip, by using the camera's 12-V DC charger. The display on the BMPCC 6K Pro, on the other hand, puts every facet of the camera on screen and lets you adjust them with a tap. Frame rate, shutter speed, f-stop, ISO, and white balance are all visible along the top, and they show their current settings if they automatically change for any reason. And aside from a few other requisites like a menu button and a recording/image-capture button, that's largely it. Most controls are handled by the touchscreen interface, where they're intuitively laid out (more on that below).
Blackmagic Design announces Pyxis modular full-frame video camera

Few camera manufacturers have managed to stand out the way Blackmagic has when it comes to capturing high-quality video on a mirrorless camera. The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (dubbed PCC6K Pro) impressed me when I reviewed it a few years ago, but somehow the company's new Cinema Camera 6K has managed to top it. With a full-frame sensor, the new L mount, and a similar $2,600 price, it’s turning my head again. Automatically populated lens data from electronic Micro Four Thirds lenses.
Their focus on understanding client needs and workflows was a refreshing approach in the industry. OpenDrives, a leader in software-defined media workflow solutions, received some well-deserved recognition this year. Its newly unveiled Atlas software-defined storage platform and business model won the NAB 2024 Show Award for Product of the Year in the Connect Category - Cloud Computing and Storage. Atlas offers a revolutionary composable storage model, priced based on capabilities rather than capacity, giving creators advanced options. As an individual content creator, imagine being given back half of your time to focus on new projects or spend more time with clients or loved ones.
@onlyfreeman To call a 4/3 camera a "Pocket Full Frame". Nowhere near full frame, the sensor is a just a quarter of the full frame size, that's why the name is quite a bend. There is a difference between marketing and false advertising. The BMD's don't compete with the Sony stuff as hybrids, in fact the BMD is so heavily compromised as a video can I'd not even try to use it for stills.
As for the onboard microphones, they sound as decent as on-camera mics can. They are useful for scratch audio or for syncing if you record primary audio into another device, but you probably shouldn’t rely on them for much beyond that. There’s also no shoe mount on top, replaced instead with a screw thread for connecting a camera cage or mounting plate. Oddly, the bottom tripod mount is a sole 1/4-inch socket, missing the extra pin often found on video cameras. This is, then, a camera you will certainly want to accessorize to get the most out of it.
